The Africa Roundtable 2021
African-European Cooperation on Green Transition & Covid-19 Recovery

The Africa Roundtable is a new forum for decision-makers from politics, business and society on European-African cooperation. The current urgent questions and challenges of the neighboring continents as well as partnership approaches and models of future cooperation are discussed. Renowned partners, such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Robert Bosch Foundation, the Mo Ibrahim Foundation and McKinsey & Company support the innovative forum.
The Africa Roundtable on 9 June 2021, took place with a focus on “Covid-19 Recovery” and “Green Transition.” Covid-19 hit Africa and Europe hard on many levels. Rebuilding a more resilient economy is paramount after the Covid-19 pandemic ends. At the same time, the crisis offers an opportunity for a green transition for both continents. This major challenge can best be met by the two continents working together. How reconstruction can be shaped was discussed at The Africa Roundtable.
