GP Paper "Contribution of Research and Development to Resilient Health Systems"

In order to establish, operate and maintain a stable health system, a wide range of research is required. Only through research and development (R&D) can we obtain the necessary data on epidemics and diseases in the population. Research infrastructure is an indispensable basis for rapid diagnoses in the event of a health crisis.

At the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting, the Global Perspectives Initiative (GPI) brought together scientists from various fields of health research. Topics included how different areas can be better linked, how translation can be facilitated and which basic requirements R&D needs in order to build a stable health system. The results of this meeting were presented at the GPI Politics Briefing “Contribution of Research and Development to Resilient Health Systems“ whereby special attention was paid to the role of Germany.
