More than 70 million people worldwide are fleeing persecution and conflict. The ongoing pandemic is making life even harder for displaced individuals. Therefore, we discussed how humanity and solidarity can help us overcome these challenges.
For his work protecting the Yazidi community in Syria and Iraq, activist Mirza Dinnayi was awarded the Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity in October 2019. Using this example of Yazidis in the Middle East conflict, we discussed how displacement and genocide can be prevented.
