More than 70 million people worldwide are displaced due to conflict and persecution. The ongoing pandemic has further complicated their already dire circumstances. What role can humanity and international solidarity play in overcoming these challenges?
We discussed this issue with activist Mirza Dinnayi – using the example of the Yazidis in the Middle Eastern conflict. Dinnayi has dedicated his life to protecting displaced communities in Syria and Iraq. In October 2019, he was awarded the Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity for his work.
