Salon: Financing Africa’s Future
October 1, 2024
Access to finance and reduced cost of capital are critical for African countries to accelerate local growth, production and revenue generation, as well as to facilitate intercontinental and international trade. However, the continent faces significant financial challenges, including high borrowing costs and growing debt burdens. Current developments and global shifts underline that it is time to adapt the international financial architecture. A more equitable system needs to be put in place to provide a common ground for sustainable partnerships and cooperation. During our session at Berlin Global Dialogue we explored current trends and developments in Africa’s financial sector and discussed the actions needed by businesses and governments to improve the financial landscape on the continent.
