Africa’s population and prosperity are growing – and so does the continent’s importance as a sales market for German companies. At the same time, private investments can play a key role in achieving sustainable development.
However, our study “Investments by German Businesses in Africa” shows: Many companies perceive corruption, political instability and uncertain legal frameworks as significant risks. In a confidential discussion with representatives from politics and business, we explored the steps necessary to promote Good Governance – and the role German policymakers can play in this process.
