The Challenge of Africa
What Must Germany do?
Politics Briefing: The Challenge of Africa
December 15, 2021
Paul-Löbe-Haus, Berlin
Climate change, the pandemic and ongoing global conflicts pose foreign policy and development challenges for the new German government. These issues can only be addressed through international cooperation, making a strong partnership with Africa essential. Together with Dr. Kumi Naidoo, Christoph Matschie, and Dr. Ingrid Hamm, we discussed the opportunities of a future Africa policy and the challenges ahead.

What role should Germany take in strengthening its partnership with Africa?
Discussion at the Parliamentary Breakfast "The Challenge of Africa"

Christoph Matschie, former Head of the Africa Discussion Group and Deputy Spokesman for Foreign Affairs for the SPD parliamentary group, shared his expertise in German and international Africa policy.
